Wacom Bamboo

Today I just got myself a new toy
It’s a Wacom Bamboo A6 Wide
I believe John Arnold from PhotoWalkthrough.com is the one who inspired me to get one (by the way… I love his tutorials)

wacom bamboo

It’s great… I can’t wait to start using it 😀

Canon Printer

Today I got myself a canon printer
I did some prints and they are looking great!!! The format is 10×15 (I know that a small size photo) but for this price it’s perfect!

canon printer

It’s a canon Selphy CP740
It has a lot of ways to print the images… you can print them from your camera or from a memory card (MS, SD, CF) or from a computer.
As you can see it has a little screen where you can see the images and setup the print format and change other options like… date, red eye and stuff like that. 😀

Blur Filter Experiment

I did an experiment with the Blur Filter in AS 2.0 and I thought it will be great to share this little code 😀
I used MC Tween to animate this 😉

[kml_flashembed movie=”http://blog.vamapaull.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/blur-button.swf” height=”200″ width=”450″ /]

Here is the code:

#include "mc_tween2.as"
import flash.filters.BlurFilter;

theButton.xBlurTo(11, 3, 1);
theButton.onRollOver = function() {
	this.xBlurTo(0, 3, 2);
}
theButton.onRollOut = function() {
	this.xBlurTo(11, 3, 2);
}
theButton.onRelease = function() {
	this.xBlurTo(110, 3, 2);
	this.alphaTo(0, 1, "linear");
	this.enabled = false;
}

Something like this can be used for some Enter Site button or some image transmission… or whatever pops to your mind.

gotoAndLearn V2

In case you don’t know already, Lee Brimelow lunched gotoAndLearn V2 gotoAndLearn it’s a great flash tutorials site and it’s free!! If you don’t know about it by now, I suggest you take a look.

And you can check the forums too.
It’s the best flash community out there 😉

Image loader

I did not updated this blog lately because I was working on some flash projects… and now I want to share with you the code that I use for most of my images when I load them externally.
I used this code a lot in MotorRocks.com and other sites…

import mx.transitions.Tween;
import mx.transitions.easing.*;

var listener:Object = new Object();
listener.tmc = target;
listener.onLoadInit = function(mc:MovieClip) {
	new Tween(mc,"_alpha", Strong.easeOut,0,100,2,true);
};
var loader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
loader.addListener(listener);

loader.loadClip("image01.jpg", holder);

I think this is the easiest way to preload images and when loaded… to fade them in.
It’s a nice effect and you can use it on your projects if you want 😉

Flip paper

Today I did some research trying to find how to make a flip pater effect… and this is the result:

[kml_flashembed movie=”http://blog.vamapaull.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/flip-paper.swf” height=”400″ width=”400″ /]

This is a nice effect and maybe I will use it for a photo slideshow app or something like that…
